The Black Library

This is where the knowlege begins. Take the time to know your history before it's erased.

The Spoken Word Cafe

Pull up a chair. The conversation here runs deep.

The Spoken Word Café is a private, invitation-only gathering space where words carry weight, minds expand, and community builds itself one honest conversation at a time. This is where the culture comes alive beyond the clothing, beyond the commerce, and into the very heartbeat of what Urban Rootz Society exists to nurture - a community of Black men and women who think critically, speak boldly, and grow deliberately together.

Live Poetry Readings

Words have always been the weapon, the salve, and the bridge of Black culture. The Spoken Word Café brings live poetry readings into a curated digital space where Black poets, spoken word artists, and storytellers deliver work that moves, challenges, and heals. Every reading creates a shared experience that reminds us why the art of Black expression has survived every attempt to silence it.

The Online Book Club

Great minds deserve great books. Each month, our private book club selects titles that sharpen historical knowledge, deepen cultural identity, and expand economic thinking. From Chancellor Williams to Supreme Understanding Allah, from financial literacy to Black philosophy - every selection feeds a mind hungry for truth and a community hungry for direction. Members receive private invitations, discussion guides, and access to live group conversations that go far beyond surface-level reading.

Mind Building Sessions

Some conversations cannot happen in public spaces. The Spoken Word Café hosts private mind building sessions where members gather to discuss ideas, challenge thinking, share knowledge, and push each other toward higher levels of consciousness, economic awareness, and personal growth. These sessions bring together voices from across the community - entrepreneurs, educators, artists, healers, and thinkers - all committed to collective elevation.

This space requires an invitation because everything worth building requires intention. Request your seat at the table and join a community that takes the life of the mind as seriously as the life of the street.
